Spider Awards

This are the winners from the "spider awards". Both ametur and professional awards are given recognizing outstanding black and white photographers. Here is my short list of favorites:

This one is by Susan Bernstine. This is an absolutely stunning photograph. It has PATTERN, and it is exceedingly interesting. The person is what draws me in. The background is intriguing, but not overwhelming. The only thing that annoys me slightly is the sharpness next to the person, but not the actual person. If the person would have been sharp it would have been perfect.

The image above was taken by milan fano blatny. Again, it has PATTERN, BALANCE, and LEADING LINES. I still don't know quite how this picture was taken, but it is pretty awesome.

One of the reasons why I chose this one is because it reminds me of the work Ms. Patterra did. I really like the BALANCE and LEADING LINES. It also overwhelms me with a sense of peacefulness that I quite enjoy.

I Like this one for two big reasons. One, it is EXTREMELY similar to some images from my final project fall term. I also like the balance.

The above photograph meets all the AP portfolio criteria. It has BALANCE, LEADING LINES, PATTERN and AWESOMENESS.

This photo is just interesting. Why on earth is there a lady with a parasol and a nice dress standing in the middle of murky water. It just makes me wonder, which is what makes it a good photograph. I may have cropped a wee bit more on the bottom on the sides, but that is just me. Its still awesome, though.

This was submitted under the "architecture" section of the awards, and I chose it because it has LEADING LINES.he one thing that bothers me is it is cropped to tight on the right side, but other than that it is awesome.

this is so sweet! I have absolutely no clue what it is, but i think that the objects are intriguing and that it has a nice composition.

This is my favorite photo of the bunch. It tells a story, which is what i like about it. My eye follows the wake of the hand and then back then along the boat and then back again. It is a stunning photograph.
