This one was taken at night. I really like this image because of the sweet lighting and the off centeredness of the truck. It is a simple image, but it is a really really awesome image.

This one kind of reminded me of Slade's image of the abandoned barge on the Great salt lake. This one is still in water, however, and it has a really nice composition. I think i would have liked it better if it had been balanced, but it is still a nice image.

This picture is a gravel pit at night. I like it because it has PATTERN, but is not a shapeless mass.

This pano is sweet. I like how the circle of uncut hay draws your eye around and around as if it is on a merry go round, and I really like the stormy sky. It also has PATTERN and BALANCE.

This is a stunning photograph. The viewers eye is naturally drawn along the current. the man fishing adds a relaxing effect. Overall, a stunning photograph.

I would be hard pressed to pick a favorite, but this is on the verge of top 3. I like the vertical pano, which in it of itself is a rare thing, but to be so interesting is phenomenal.

this image is nearly perfectly BALANCED and it has PATTERN. I like the windey road balancing and making the image more interesting.

I am not even sure what it is. But i like it. (BALANCE. PATTERN)

This one again reminded me of Josef Koudelka, and his awesomeness.

This one is so interesting. I like the BALANCE and the time lapse (alexey titerinko, anyone?) and it gives kind of a spooky edge to what would normally be a place of extreme, borderline fake, happiness.

I had never heard of him before. I bet you can't guess that I am already a fan.
There is a large school of photographers that are working in this genre. His work resonates with me. Thanks for finding him and sharing.
'm glad you like my work. I just published a whole series of my night work through the University of Minnesota press entitled "Nocturnes".
Yes sometimes I think Koudelka and I have very strong compositions. I had started working in the Pano format in 1986 and only knew of his 35mm reportage work. Then in 1994 I visited Prague and found a whole show of his on the Black Triangle region all in 6X17, Stunning! I thought "boy if I was there I think I would have come up with similar stuff" He seems to have settled on this format now. Check out his book entitled "Chaos"
I'm continuing in this format and should have another book out on the "Suburb Growth".
Chris,
Thanks a ton for stopping by and giving us some insight into your photography.
Your imagery will now be included in my lectures for panorama, and possibly in some other stuff as well.
Thanks for being a great image maker. You are an inspiration to my students, and me as well.
Thanks for letting me use your amazing images! I really like your night stuff that was on your website.
P.S. Chaos is my all-time favorite book of photography. Thanks for the recommend!
